Logic Psychology do loop

Conventionally we treat Logic and Psychology as different knowledge desciplines but in practice they feed each other. The psychology of reasoning and the rationale of psychology expalin the inter relationship. Logic evolved to establish scientific thinking to understand the reality. And psychology to explain the limitations of reasoning and that perception plays a much important role in our thinking. But then we can alays rationalise our faulty reaoning by stating 'to err is human'Likewise,we can state that there cannot be any meaningful perception unless it verfied or supported by our reasoning.

DESIGNING THE MIND

William H. Calvin's "How the Brain Works" and 'CEREBRAL CODE' are indeed fascinating works and provide a sound basis for further research in this area. To my mind, knowing how human brain works, it is all the more important that we also do thinking on how it should work? That is,design models of optimal( both for efficient viable) brain usage.
I am willing to do my bit but would welcome any one volunteering to help design a Cybernetic model of human mind

INDIVIDUAL Vs ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING

Old saying-two brains are better than one(provoded they think in parallel). So ,hunam organizations are more efficient than an individual. But from learning systems point of view, the latter may not be always in advantage. For example,in the individual all the past experience is stored somewhere or the other in his/her brain and and can be recalled at will within  no time.In contrast,in human organizations organizational experiences are not all documented and in part are with different individuals working with it.If some of them leave, those exepeinces go along with them.Consequently, organizations may not be able to respond to all new situations effectively.

THINKNG ACROSS BOXES

We usually think within a Box.With effort learn to think out of the Box. A next logical step would be to think across the Boxes. While one Box refers to on set of assumptions and structural relationships between the elements, and the other Box does so for another set of assumpptions and relationships,by drawing parallel between the two, one may come out with new knowledge about either or both boxes.

RE THINK ON SIX HATS

On re-thinking (please refer to my post of Aug) I think that Six Hats which is based on Parallel thinking and which I had termed as non creative or critical, could also be creative provided one uses the sequences of six hats in a creative manner ! But the question is can one really be non critical in the choice of the sequence of the colours of the hat. Perhaps, a random selection of hats be considered creative.

Identifying new Thinking

What Dr De Bono refers as new thinking, namely,Creative thinking(in the sense of Lateral Thinking) One can do better by distinguishing it from Critical thinking if we talk of creative thinking systems and Critical thinking systems instead. This, of course presupposes that we are able to design the internal structure of the two systems and the inter dependence between the two. This to my mind would help people at large to appreciate and recognize the difference easily.

PARALLEL THINKING

The term Parallel thinking was coined by Dr Edward De Bono. Unlike Lateral Thinking, which is a variety of Creative thinking, Dr Edward De Bono's famous Six Thinking Hats based on Parallel thinking is not based solely on Creative thinking, but uses analytical thinking tools as well.Only the Green Hat is Creative thinking hat. In particular, black hat refers to Critical thinking. In practice, some users find newer versions of online Brain storming more spontaneous-the very essence of creative thinking.

Everyone does not want to be creative

It is a common experience that most people like to listen to good music being played but would not like to learn to play themselves. Likewise, enjoy reading novels but not write them.So alsso most people  would like to appreciate creative ideas but not necessarily like to learn to get creative ideas themselves.

SECOND ORDER CREATIVE THINKING

While enough literature -published, and or, on the web-is available on CreativeThinking Tools or Techniques of Creative Thinking, little literature is available on how to do creative thinking on Creative Thinking Tools , that is, Second Order Creativity so to say.  Are there any process steps for that ? or is it dependent on individual's creative flash ?

Transforming the burden of mind

Creative thinking can lead to de stressing of the mind normally resulting from excessive use of critical thinking.Creative thinking is free of burden of thinking as it allows one to think what you desire and are willing to float in any direction that you want rather  be constrained by the very critical thinking process.
